Learn how to easily make an epoxy river charcuterie board by making a mold,mix and color epoxy, pour the epoxy, sand, and finish. Come join us for a two part class and learn how to easily make an epoxy river charcuterie board. On day one, you will learn how to custom make a mold, cut and prep a live edge slab, and mix and color the epoxy. Day two will be all about de-molding, cutting to final dimension, edge treatments, and final sanding and polishing Your finished board will measure approximately 20"x12"X1" and be a great gift idea for a loved one, or a perfect conversation piece at your next party.

In this class you will learn the basics of operation, file download / management and accessories. From our preselected library, you'll trace your first shape.

Intro to VCarve and CNCs

Saturday, April 12, 9 AM - 1 PM

Interested in utilizing CNC technology to create your projects? Join Phil to learn how to get started being productive with basic 2D CNC functions using VCarve software. He'll introduce you to VCarve, the software most CNC users use. He'll also cover the basics of a CNC -what they do, how to mount and execute projects, and how to optimize projects for carve time. During the class, you'll follow along as Phil sets up CNC files, teaches basic 2D operations and project generation in VCarve, and then uses a CNC for some carving. A great introduction to help you get jumpstarted in CNC.

Acrylic Pen Turning

Acrylics have distinct differences from wood when turning. For beginning turners or those new to acrylic blank turning, a pen is a perfect project! In this class you'll learn the tips and tricks you need to successfully turn an acrylic blank into a beautiful pen.

Beginning Knife Making

In this hands on beginners class you will create your very own eclipse knife from start to finish. This includes trimming and shaping your wood knife scales, drilling and pinning them to the knife, as well as short instructions on belt sanders, disc sanders, the scroll saw. We will also cover how to sharpen your knife, general tool safety and knife safety will also be addressed.

Sign Making with the Shaper Origin

Learn to make a sign with the Shaper Origin! During this class we’ll discuss layout tips and tricks, programming, Shaper’s library, bit selection, and tool setup before you carve your custom sign. Students will go home with an unfinished sign, ready for you apply final finish or paint at home.

Discover the joy of creating a beautiful centerpiece pepper grinder. Using a pepper grinder that you have crafted is immensely satisfying. This class will focus on techniques to quickly craft a pepper grinder with tips and tricks to produce a consistent beautiful piece of functional art. Make a Bandsaw Box

Sunday, April 27, 10 AM - 4 PM

In this class, you will make a bandsaw box with drawers. You will learn about how to identify the best place for entry cuts, you will cut out drawers and hollow them, then close the open cuts and prepare for finishing. Students will go home with a fully assembled box that they may choose to further sand and finish at home. With these basics, you will be able to build an incredibly wide variety of functional and/or whimsical boxes on your own.

Turn a Segmented Pen

Thursday, May 1, 4 PM - 8 PM

Level up your pen turning skills by incorporating inlay designs! Utilizing two pen blanks and an accent sheet this class will introduce you to basic pen blank segmenting. You will leave the class with a spectacular segmented pen along with an additional contrasting blank to complete in your own shop. We will also learn to apply a CA finish to give your pen a high gloss finish. Pen turning experience is required.

Want to learn to work with wood, but don’t know where to start? This class is designed give hands-on experience with all major woodworking tools including the table saw, jointer, planer, drill press, and a variety of hand power tools. Participants will complete two projects designed to teach practical use of the tools. Upon completion, you’ll feel confident enough to not only use all of these tools, but to make wise purchases of your own tools. Attendance is mandatory for the first session, and a material/supply fee of $150 is due at the first class, paid directly to the instructor. All you need to bring is your creativity!

Learn the basics of lathe operation, safety, and turning techniques and go home with a project you'll be proud to show your family and friends.

Big Cutting Board

Part 1: Sunday, May 4, 10 AM - 2 PM

Want to have a Big Board to hold your full packer brisket or prime rib? In this three-part class we'll design, construct and finish a 24" x 19" x 1.75" hardwood cutting board. You'll select from walnut, maple, cherry and padauk to construct your custom board. In the first class we'll cover design, layout and discuss the unique construction challenges of big boards. In the second class we'll prep and glue up our boards. Sanding, finishing and adding a juice groove, if desired, will complete our third session. Stop by and check out the finished Big Board Bob constructed. The retail value of the Big Board is over $550.00! Class signup must occur at least one week prior to first session.

Date Night: Pizza and Ice Cream

Our “Date Night: Pizza and Ice Cream” is a great opportunity to have fun and learn a new skill with your significant other or good friend. In this class, each of you will create a beautiful kitchen accessory (pizza cutter and an ice cream scoop) and have a great and memorable time together. The price is per couple; how you split the pizza and ice cream bill later is up to you!

Everyone needs another table! Students will design, fabricate, and assemble a basic table - based on their experience and skill level. End tables and coffee tables are recommended, but larger tables may be possible, based on instructor approval. Students will learn proper methods for laminating a tabletop, mortise and tenon (or Domino) joinery, top attachment, and much more will be covered. Basic Woodworking is a prerequisite to this class. A material/supply fee of $60 is due at the first class, paid directly to the instructor. Supply fee does not include wood or wood finish - students must supply wood and finish for their project.
