You'll select from walnut, maple, cherry and padauk to construct your custom board. In the first class we'll cover design, layout and discuss the unique construction challenges of big boards. In the second class we'll prep and glue up our boards. Sanding, finishing and adding a juice groove, if desired, will complete our third session. Everyone needs another table! Students will design, fabricate, and assemble a basic table - based on their experience and skill level. End tables and coffee tables are recommended, but larger tables may be possible, based on instructor approval. Students will learn proper methods for laminating a tabletop, mortise and tenon (or Domino) joinery, top attachment, and much more will be covered. Basic Woodworking is a prerequisite to this class. A material/supply fee of $60 is due at the first class, paid directly to the instructor. Supply fee does not include wood or wood finish - students must supply wood and finish for their project.
