Bowl Turning 102: Natural Edge Bowl

Students MUST have previous bowl turning experience. Students who take this class will learn how to safely process and turn their own bowl blanks, from a rough log all the way through the finished bowl! In addition to practicing turning techniques, some of the topics covered in this class include: processing logs, prepping blanks on the bandsaw, turning green wood, drying blanks after initial turn, remounting to the lathe, and sanding and applying finishes. Note: This class utilizes Easy Wood Tools with carbide cutters. If you prefer classic High Speed Steel (HSS) tools, bring your own or inquire within when attending class.

Acrylic Pen Turning

This is a great introduction to turning acrylic or resin on a lathe, with the end product being a pen to keep that you made yourself from start to finish. Previous turning or woodworking experience is helpful but definitely not required. We cover the basics of safety, the parts of a lathe, lathe tools, and accessories, as well as everything you need to start making acrylic or resin pens, bottle stoppers, Christmas ornaments, and other turned creations! During the five hour class, students in the class will learn how to select and cut pen blanks, drill and mount the blanks on the lathe, turn the pen barrels, wet sand, and assemble a pen. And the skills learned in this class will easily transfer to other spindle turning classes or projects. *Students who have taken the previous pen blank casting class and will be using their own blank will receive a $10.00 Woodcraft Gift Card*

Wood and Epoxy Cheese Board

In this two-day class, students will learn a variety of skills while creating their own beach themed board! It can be used as a charcuterie board, cheese board, or art for display! In the first workshop, Josh will teach basics of epoxy, and students will learn mixing/pouring skills and design techniques. During the second workshop, students will learn how to cut and finish their cured product. The instructor will walk students through shaping, planing, sanding and polishing their artwork from start to finish.

Previous experience is required* Unlock the beauty of Australian burls and transform them into stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces of art in this hands-on woodworking class. In this class, you’ll learn the process of casting Australian burls in resin, preserving their intricate grain patterns and unique features. Once your castings are set, you'll move on to the exciting step of turning them into elegant, small vases using a lathe. By the end of the class, you’ll have a finished piece you can be proud of, and the confidence to continue exploring the world of resin casting and wood turning.
