Bowl Turning 102: Natural Edge Bowl

Tuesday, April 8, 10 AM - 3 PM

Students MUST have previous bowl turning experience. Students who take this class will learn how to safely process and turn their own bowl blanks, from a rough log all the way through the finished bowl! In addition to practicing turning techniques, some of the topics covered in this class include: processing logs, prepping blanks on the bandsaw, turning green wood, drying blanks after initial turn, remounting to the lathe, and sanding and applying finishes. Note: This class utilizes Easy Wood Tools with carbide cutters. If you prefer classic High Speed Steel (HSS) tools, bring your own or inquire within when attending class.

Basic Bowl Turning

Whether you're a beginner or someone wanting to brush up on your turning skills, this basic bowl turning class is for you! This class will cover shop safety and the proper use of a lathe by making a basic bowl from start to finish. To minimize drying times so that the student can finish their bowl in a reasonable amount of time, we will be using dried bowl blanks. We will also discuss various finishes to add some personalization to your bowl. Once finished, you will be able to enjoy your bowl for years to come. Casting Resin Pen Blanks

Saturday, April 19, 12 AM - 3 PM

Learn how to make your own pen blanks using epoxy in this class! Students will learn the basics of using epoxy resin as they're guided through the process of creating 4 of their own blanks. NOTE: Students can take our Pen Turning 103 class to turn their blank into a pen OR they can come back after the class to de-mold their blank and take it home to turn.

Turning 102: Lidded Bowl

*Students MUST have previous bowl turning experience.* In this wood turning class focused on lidded bowls, participants will delve into the art of shaping and hollowing out wood to craft functional and aesthetically pleasing vessels. Students will learn how to create smooth curves, perfect proportions, and snug-fitting lids that showcase both skill and creativity. From selecting the right wood to mastering the techniques of turning and finishing, this class promises to unveil the beauty and precision of turning a simple block of wood into a stunning and practical piece of art.

Acrylic Pen Turning

Saturday, April 26, 12 AM - 5 PM

This is a great introduction to turning acrylic or resin on a lathe, with the end product being a pen to keep that you made yourself from start to finish. Previous turning or woodworking experience is helpful but definitely not required. We cover the basics of safety, the parts of a lathe, lathe tools, and accessories, as well as everything you need to start making acrylic or resin pens, bottle stoppers, Christmas ornaments, and other turned creations! During the five hour class, students in the class will learn how to select and cut pen blanks, drill and mount the blanks on the lathe, turn the pen barrels, wet sand, and assemble a pen. And the skills learned in this class will easily transfer to other spindle turning classes or projects. *Students who have taken the previous pen blank casting class and will be using their own blank will receive a $10.00 Woodcraft Gift Card*

Intermediate Cabinet Making

Part 1: Saturday, May 3, 9 AM - 5 PM

Take your woodworking to the next level in this cabinet making class! This class is designed for the intermediate woodworker, or one with some experience in woodworking. This is a two part class, building over two days. You will learn new skills and techniques to add to your toolbox in this class! You will go home with a multipurpose cabinet and the knowledge to build it in your own shop!

Wood and Epoxy Cheese Board

Part 1: Saturday, May 10, 12 AM - 4 PM

Part 2: Sunday, May 11, 11 AM - 4 PM

In this two-day class, students will learn a variety of skills while creating their own beach themed board! It can be used as a charcuterie board, cheese board, or art for display! In the first workshop, Josh will teach basics of epoxy, and students will learn mixing/pouring skills and design techniques. During the second workshop, students will learn how to cut and finish their cured product. The instructor will walk students through shaping, planing, sanding and polishing their artwork from start to finish.

Turning 103: Wood and Epoxy Hybrid Vase

*This is an advanced turning class. Previous experience is required* Unlock the beauty of Australian burls and transform them into stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces of art in this hands-on woodworking class. In this class, you’ll learn the process of casting Australian burls in resin, preserving their intricate grain patterns and unique features. Once your castings are set, you'll move on to the exciting step of turning them into elegant, small vases using a lathe. By the end of the class, you’ll have a finished piece you can be proud of, and the confidence to continue exploring the world of resin casting and wood turning.
